1. COOKIES AND PERSONAL DATA

Cookies and similar technologies use unique sequences of numbers that act as an identifier and are considered to be "personal data" under European data protection law. This is because they can enable the user of a device to be uniquely recognized as the same user with this device, even if their 'real world' identity is unknown. Cookies are also typically used in combination with other identifiers such as the IP address for your device which is automatically assigned to that device by your internet service provider and shared by your device when online content is requested and displayed. IP addresses can be saved automatically in our server log files whenever our website, applications or online content are accessed and -depending on the application- may be linked to the Cookies unless it is not legally permitted or separate IP anonymization features are enabled (see 'Adobe Analytics & ID Service' below).

There are different types of Cookies:

·     Session cookies - these cookies are stored only for the duration of your session on our Website and are deleted when you close your browser.

·     Persistent cookies - these cookies are stored on a visitor's device for the period of time specified in the Cookie. They are activated each time that the visitor visits our Website that created that particular cookie. Further details on the actual storage period (duration) can be taken from the information in the Cookie settings.

·     Cookies that are served by our Website are called 'First party cookies' (indicated as “GWM” below) whereas cookies that are served from a separate website or service to the one you are visiting, are called 'Third party cookies'.

Furthermore, there are different categories of Cookies (e.g. Marketing Cookies).

·     Strictly necessary cookies

·     Performance cookies

·     Targeting cookies

2. ADOBE ANALYTICS & ID SERVICE

With your consent, GWM and this Website uses cookies provided by Adobe. These cookies are used to identify and better understand the types of users who visit the Website. The primary cookies involved in this process are the Experience Cloud AMCV cookie and the demdex cookie. These cookies enable the ID service to generate unique identifiers and facilitate seamless data sharing among various Adobe Experience Cloud solutions, which are used by GWM for marketing purposes. The information generated by the cookies about the visitors' use of the GWM website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Adobe Inc. (345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110-2704; "Adobe") on servers in the United States.

The Adobe Cookies used for marketing purposes on the Website can:

  • Set and store a unique ID for Website visitors (the MID).
  • Persist this unique ID so the ID service can collect and share data with other Experience Cloud solutions.
  • Track users across other GWM domains (e.g. understand when visitors access GWM sites for different countries and regions).

Adobe Cookies do not:

  • Store, transmit, or execute computer viruses.
  • Access or store personally identifiable information (PII) like your email address.
  • Control computer hardware or software.
  • Make computers unstable or cause performance problems.
  • Track users on sites that do not use the ID service.

The legal basis for the subsequent processing of the data collected via Adobe Cookies such as usage, analysis and storage is your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR).

You have the right to object at any time to such processing. To exercise this right, you may at any time download and install the aforementioned browser plug-in or you may at any time deactivate the use of non-mandatory cookies in the cookies settings.
